The Sandra Factor

Oh what a difference a week makes. On 1st May I bought a ticket to Bangkok. On May 3rd two days later a very old friend Sandra emails me and says she has just arrived in London. Sandra and I have a lot of history but we have never been between the sheets together. (probably why we are still friends, lol) I shared a flat with Sandra in Bondi immediately before moving up to the mountains almost 16 years ago although I have known her for around 26 years from our time together at the Corinda Country Club in Brisbane when she was a tender young teenager. You don’t want to know about the CCC except it was a country club in name only. I was a huge run down house on the Oxley River, read very polluted Oxley River, in Brisbane where up to 15 people lived, Milton even renovated the the chook shed to sleep in and there wash a constant tide of itinerant guests arriving and departing. We had it listed in the phone book under that name also and would from time to time get people ringing asking how they could join or get information and had a lot of fun telling people, 'Sorry, or books are closed but we could wait list them, probably about 10 years'!!! Anyway what better way to bookend my time in the mountains than by catching up with Sandra in London. I have been to London, for twelve hours. Can you believe that? I had a twelve hour stopover in London on a flight from Dublin to Cairo so rather than sit at the airport I jumped on the tube and headed into town, got off at Piccadilly Circus Station and walked around and when I got bored with that bought a day tripper ticket and just jumped on and off buses all day in central London. Found myself in a couple of black neighbourhoods where I was getting well checked out, walked past Buckingham Palace, crossed the Thames River, and had a walk through Hyde Park. I did go to Kings Cross Station but I didn’t go looking for platform 9 ¾ . That’s it, that’s my sum total experience of London and England. So, the prospect of going back and spending a bit of time there and catching up with Sandra was too good to pass by. Ya know whata mean, kun I ave a lager then lov. (72 days)
